The success and diversity of the Umesh Modi Group vests with Mr. Umesh K. Modi, the Group Chairman, President & CEO of the Umesh Modi Group. It was in the early 80’s of the 20th century that Umesh Modi Group ventured into collaborations and joint ventures with some of the best known international companies. Graduated top of his class, Mr. Modi is gold medalist Chemical Engineer from Banaras Hindu University.
He has also served as Chairman of the Steel Furnace Association of India, the Western U.P. Sugar Mills Association, the Steel Wire Manufacturers Association of India, the Sponge Iron Association of India, as well as the presidency of the Institute of Economic Studies. Besides, he is heading a number of corporations set up with foreign collaborators.
Beginning with the unique inheritance of Modi Sugar Mills, his Group has charted an unprecedented growth path, propelled by Mr. Umesh K. Modi’s zealous and practical dynamism.
After graduating in Business Administration from an esteemed university in India, Mr. Jayesh Modi has been a young entrepreneur. Being an out-of-the-box thinker, his innovative ideas, passion for taking his business to new heights, and being in sync with modern trends have helped him create a prestigious name in the industry. Not giving in to the easy risk-free route that was laid in front of him, he started his own packaging unit and, through his zealous attitude & dedication toward delivering quality to clients, helped his venture expand at a rapid pace.

Our rolling mill guide system plant was setup in 1983. It was also during this year that the company went into a joint venture with Morgårdshammar.
The plant for Welding Electrodes was setup under the GMM Arc brand in 2008 with a cutting-edge manufacturing facility and industry expertise in producing welding electrodes and CO2/CCMS wires. This well-equipped plant covers an area of approximately 8300 square meters, is located in Modipuram, Meerut (U.P), about 70 kilometers from Delhi.
In 2013 Company’s name was changed to MHIL and the collaboration ended.
MHIL’s product range and delivering standards have always helped it stand apart from the other names in the industry.
A wide range of stick electrodes under “GM series” that includes general purpose mild steel, low hydrogen, low alloy, stainless steel, cast iron & hard surfacing are being manufactured on most modern equipment under strict quality control system.
“GMSA series” of low heat input electrodes, used for repair & maintenance applications complete the range of stick electrodes.
In 2018, we took the initiative to start our own wire drawing in response to global demand and in order to cater to a full range of welding consumables. With a production capacity of 4000 ton /year at Modipuram.
In the year 2018, MHIL established an Export Department to cater to their products on a global scale, and in order to do so, all products manufactured here are subjected to stringent quality controls, allowing us to maintain consistent quality. As a result of this, we increased our sales by 50% in 2018.
Our major products are being supplied to various industries with National and International approvals like (Railway, ONGC, BHEL, ABS etc.)

was founded in 1962. With a rich legacy spanning decades, we specialize in
producing a diverse range of electrodes. Our offerings include General Purpose
Mild Steel, Stainless Steel, Cast Iron, and Nonferrous electrodes. Additionally,
we produce specialized products such as LOMELT electrodes, designed for low-
heat input applications in repair and maintenance. Complementing our electrode
range, we manufacture wire solutions for CO2/MIG welding processes, Saw
Wire, and Stainless Steel wires tailored for GTAW (TIG) and GMAW (MIG)
processes, along with flux-cored wires.”
“Umesh Modi Group has formed a Joint Venture Company called ‘Modi-Ecoweld’
with Ecoweld of South Korea. Ecoweld is a reputed brand in South Korea, in the
welding industry. It is known for bringing out high-quality industrial grade
products (Welding consumables, Ceramic Backing Material, and Anti-spatter
solution) through product research and deep understanding of end-user
requirements.”
